ATDW Day celebrates the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW). It is Australia’s national platform for digital tourism marketing.
The ATDW collects tourism listing information from local tourism operators and distributes this information on partnering websites to support local tourism businesses in expanding their online exposure bookings and marketing.
So, National ATDW Day is a tongue in cheek celebration, to serve as a reminder to update your property listings on the ATDW website. Unfortunately, if you don’t go and update your information at least once a year, your information will expire and your online visibility will plummet.
To update your listing, you need to head over to the ATDW listing portal, login and click on the big red “RENEW” button. There’s a whole list of options that you can update. You simply need to update something on the list and hit the “save” button.
It’s important to take note of when your listing expires because the ATDW is the single source of tourism data in Australia that gets distributed across hundreds and hundreds of tourism websites, distribution partners and wholesalers.
It’s a central point for you to have that information there because it’s good from a distribution point of view, and it’s also good from an SEO perspective.
If your listing is no longer visible, it will likely detract from your presence in Google’s eyes and right across the many partnering websites and distributors.
So I encourage you to get onto it now!
